In this Southern Hemisphere, we have 40C plus temps, but similar principles apply when housebound. Something to cheer up those feeling the temperature extremes.

Salute to the Sun

Pixel at one of our favourite places, Rawnsley Park, one morning just after sunrise, with The Bluff in the background.  A nice view to wake up to 🙂

And now it is winter…..

In case you were wondering, I’m doing ok, just taking life a lot slower these days, after a hectic…. um… two years actually!  And I feel it’s just a respite, so I’ve been making the most of it.  The future looks unsettled…. but more on that another time.

It’s winter, and so far there have been gales, fog, frosts, rain, and this weekend snow could fall in the mountains.  As you can imagine, I’m very grateful for a small cottage that is quite cozy especially if there’s some sun about to stream in the sitting room windows.

For now, please enjoy shots of Fred and the cats Frank and Pixel, and the various calves on the property. It is so very very nice to be able to walk out again with my furry friends and not have to worry about traffic – and at this time of year, the snakes are less likely to be active. 🙂

‘Tis the season…..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOne of the few things I look forward to at Christmas time, is to see what decoration will arrive on the roadside near Robe – I have no idea who is responsible for the Santa each year, but I thank them.

I also thank everyone here who is a regular reader, and those who drop by from time to time, for your comments and support.  The last few months I feel I’ve been on a roller-coaster, in all manner of ways, and it isn’t finished yet it seems, hence my relative silence recently.

The plumber has just been – and will return tomorrow with a new hot water heater and to repair other issues.  Thankfully my landlord agrees to the repairs, for which I am extremely grateful.  Perhaps the repairs will be symbolic in other ways.

Wishing you all the best for this holy day season.

I’ll let Pixel have the last word – being a cat that of course is her perogative.  She was ‘helping’ me while I edited images from a concert I recently attended in Robe.
