Inselbergs

These strange creatures are to be found on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.  I felt they deserved a slightly different editing treatment…..  another time I’ll show them ‘normally’.

  1. Despite not being nicely rounded, they look like concretions — harder rock that’s left after soft rock erodes. They also have fantastic shapes — not in the sense of fantastic=good, but of fantastic=fantasy.

  2. I’m going to try this again. My comments aren’t appearing in many blogs. ….

    1. Many thanks Linda for your perseverance. Finally I think we’re getting the gremlins out of the works!
Yes, those rocks took me right off into fantasy land….. these images are only a tiny fraction of what I shot. But the weather was not kind – almost gale force winds and rain on a highly exposed site took some of the shine off the visit. You’ll love the story of their local name, when I get around to writing about it 🙂

    1. Thanks Margaret, I did 🙂 I think it would be fun to do some screen printing with the shapes too…. that is, if I could screen print!
