These strange creatures are to be found on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. I felt they deserved a slightly different editing treatment….. another time I’ll show them ‘normally’.

I live in the Australian countryside with my animals. Together we explore the land around us and their connection with the world helps me to see what I would otherwise be blind to. They are my teachers. My aim is to convey this other way of seeing through my photography. View all posts by eremophila

Despite not being nicely rounded, they look like concretions — harder rock that’s left after soft rock erodes. They also have fantastic shapes — not in the sense of fantastic=good, but of fantastic=fantasy.
I’m going to try this again. My comments aren’t appearing in many blogs. ….

I just tried logging out and back in. Let’s see if this works. If it does, look in your spam file for my comment.
Many thanks Linda for your perseverance. Finally I think we’re getting the gremlins out of the works!
Yes, those rocks took me right off into fantasy land….. these images are only a tiny fraction of what I shot. But the weather was not kind – almost gale force winds and rain on a highly exposed site took some of the shine off the visit. You’ll love the story of their local name, when I get around to writing about it 🙂
Trying again….
Let’s try this….
This?
Hi, I can see you had a lot of fun playing around with the images of these strange shapes sticking out of the landscape.
Thanks Margaret, I did 🙂 I think it would be fun to do some screen printing with the shapes too…. that is, if I could screen print!
