  1. It took a minute, and then I got it. You have a photo of what my folks would call the south end of a horse going north — except I think your creature is a sheep. Yes?

The color photo of the snail made me laugh. It looks like it’s stretching in the morning light, like someone who just woke up and is trying to decide whether to start the day, or not.

    Happy Easter to you, too!

    • Yes, it’s Merrywether travelling away from me 🙂 You got the feeling of the snail exactly as I’d hoped!
Gee, I’ve got some reading to do to catch up on your blog Linda, but I will very soon.

  2. There´s a little of the flavour of parts of Andalucia in the wide, open spaces you show, but we have more hills. There are a lot of Eucalyptus trees here too, all imports. They tend to take over the local species but they still can´t quite push out the sturdy local pines. But in the end, there aren´t too many directions you can look without seeing the mark of humankind here, except by looking out to sea. Luckily, we can see the Atlantic Ocean from our windows.

    • I remember seeing a lot of eucalypt trees when in Portugal many years ago – anything taken out of its place of origin has the potential to become a pest – but humans never learn it seems. While it’s a nice area in which I live now, I do miss the really wild places out bush, where it is possible at times, to not see the mark of humans….. I’m glad your native pines are hanging on.

    • Thanks very much Pearlz, most appreciated. I wish I could be like a snail, with my home attached – it would solve a lot of housing issues! Maybe that’s why I’m fond of tortoise also 🙂
