One year on…..

“Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one’s head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.”
—     Oscar Wilde

SallyIt is one year on since the death of my equine friend, companion, teacher – Sally.  She was Fred’s best friend too, and the days are not the same without her.  We manage.  But it’s not the same.

Time is a physician that heals every grief.  ~Diphilus

Just how much time is another matter……

I’ve gone into the archives for a roundup of images of  her and Fred together, having fun, and you can see just how tolerant she was of all that he did with her.  Few other horses would have been so forgiving.  She loved him though, and love conquers all……

For the good times

  1. I’m not a “horse person”, as they say. But I must confess – I think I would have enjoyed knowing your Sally. There’s something about her that seems so approachable – and not just because she allowed Fred into her world. Those are some wonderful photos – they’re a great reminder that there are little miracles happening every day, hidden away in corners of the world we’ll never see.

Well, except when we’re lucky enough to know someone with a blog who lets us peek.

    • Thank you Margaret. I’m not sure about a new companion…. given my circumstances…. but I am considering something to get me moving on .
