The Mask
I’m clever with my mask
I can put it up in an instant
What ever the occasion
I have one to use.
It’s such a habit now
I sometimes forget that
It is a mask
And I mistake it for me.
That’s why finding me
Is so hard to do
That’s why others
Cannot find me either.
(2003)
True and applicable to nearly every single one of us. We become so accustomed to trying out and wearing masks, that its them, rather than the person beneath, that starts to define us.

Many thanks for reading and commenting on this Cara, I do appreciate it. Finally, I feel I’ve learned to show my true face more often than not
